Lake Watch has made a commitment to the future of Lake Martin and the lake community by developing a water quality monitoring program in partnership with: Alabama Water Watch, Auburn University, Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), and local governmental organizations.

Lake Watch regularly monitors swimming sites around the lake and in the streams and the Tallapoosa River above the lake.  

Our Swim Guide network posts bacteriological test results on the Swim Guide, a one-stop shop for swim beach water quality information.

Our Lake Watch test results are  displayed in Swim Guide as easy-to-interpret icons: GREEN – meets public health standards, go swimming, and RED - does not meet public health standards, consider swimming elsewhere since the water is contaminated with E. coli and fecal matter.
